Collections from Museums & Organisations
At Museum Selection, we are proud to work with 28 museums and galleries in Britain and around the world.
Art Deco
Art Deco took its name from the Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels Modernes held in Paris in 1925 and it melded modernist styles with fine craftsmanship and rich materials.
Art Nouveau
Inspired by natural forms and characterised by curvilinear lines, Art Nouveau is considered a 'total' art style, adopted across architecture, graphic art, and most of the decorative arts including jewellery.
Impressionism
Impressionism originated with a group of Paris-based artists during the late 19th-century. By painting in sunlight directly from nature, and making bold use of vivid synthetic pigments, they began to develop a lighter and brighter style.
Arts & Crafts
This movement was based upon upholding traditional craftsmanship. It opposed industrialisation and favoured using simple forms taking inspiration from medieval, romantic, and folk styles of decoration.
