Da Vinci Bombard Mini Kit

A clever kit to make an authentic model of a bombard, or cannon, based upon a pen-and-ink drawing from c.1504 by Leonardo da Vinci (1452-1519). Make the base, barrel, breech, trunnion, muzzle and then use the spring-loaded model to launch three miniature projectiles to fly up to 10cm. The original design featured an unusually short barrel which suggested the bombard was for use across a relatively short range but da Vinci’s drawing also suggested it was to be used with hollow projectiles which exploded into further bombs and shrapnel. With pre-cut parts, assemble the model and secure joints with the glue. Detailed instructions and informative notes make this a curiosity to intrigue all ages. Perfect for a desk, to inspire your own ingenious thoughts, or for display on a bookshelf: the model is bound to make a fun talking point.
