Description
Elegant Christmas cards reproducing six intricate Japanese woodblock prints spanning 1843-1940. Focusing on scenes of daily life in beautiful snow-bound settings, the prints include designs by masters of printmaking: Utagawa Hiroshige (1797-1858) and Horoaki Takahashi (1871-1945). Evocative designs include ‘Mount Fuji and Landscape in the Snow’ by an unattributed artist, c.1890-1940; ‘The Garden in Snow', 1854, by Utagawa Hiroshige; and a detail of 'Plum Tree in Snow', c.1910, by Horoaki Takahashi. Drawing on the originals now in the collections of the Minneapolis Institute of Art, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and the Library of Congress, USA. Full of charming details and bold composition, the cards will delight friends and family throughout the Christmas season.
