Description
Bright and breezy greetings cards reproducing a sunny selection of railway poster art. Mixing advertising designs from 1915-39 including stylised scenery by great names of poster-design: Frank Newbould (1887-1951), Edward McKnight Kauffer (1890-1954), Charles E. Brown (1896-1982), and J.L. Carstairs (active 1920s-30s). Includes a detail of a London North Eastern Railway poster advertising ‘LNER Camping Coaches in England and Scotland', 1939, which boasted 'accommodation for six persons from £21.0.0 per week'; 'Somerset', c.1930, for Great Western Railway; and London Underground posters for 'The North Downs' and ‘Oxhey Woods’, 1915.

Smashing cards, especially for the enthusiast, though I have to send them out! However, I wasn't impressed by the recyclable envelope they were packaged in, it didn't keep them tidy or secure and they could easily have been damaged or creased.
