PRODUCT DETAILS
Description
Greetings cards which reproduce charismatic prints of auspicious creatures by Japanese master Ohara Koson (1877-1945). Associated with good fortune in Japanese culture, a frog’s Japanese name – ‘kaeru’ – means ‘to return’. Monkeys and goldfish both symbolise good fortune. Foxes are associated with trickster spirits but also symbolise intelligence and long life. The designs include ‘Dancing Fox’, c.1900-10 and ‘Monkey in a Persimmon Tree’, c.1900-30. Blank inside for your own message, the cards are perfect to send luck and good wishes to a host of recipients.
