Royal Horticultural Society
A festive and flower-rich die-cut advent calendar inspired by a scene reminiscent of the soaring glasshouse at Wisley, which was opened in 2007. Founded in 1804, the Society’s main garden was located in South Kensington from 1861-1888; boasting an impressive glasshouse and formal grounds. Echoing the home for the tender and tropical plants of the Society’s collection, the advent calendar is illustrated with pretty details of seasonal flowers: Christmas cacti, potted cyclamen, poinsettias, amaryllis and narcissi; plus garlands of holly, Christmas wreaths and a die-cut Christmas tree. Enlivened by a frosting of iridescent glitter, the tree is supported by wire ‘springs’ to add depth to the shadow box-like scene. Open the 24 numbered doors to enjoy dainty religious and seasonal illustrations. Hang to display but open up the sides a little upon receipt to create depth within the scene. Made of sturdy cardboard, plant-lovers will enjoy this Christmas scene as a companion to their Christmas festivities.
