Description
Delve deeper into the stories of the talented craftspeople at the heart of the BBC’s ‘The Repair Shop’ to learn how they started out in their chosen craft, their most significant restorations and the magic of the camaraderie in the television show’s barn. Meet 14 experts, including horologist Steve Fletcher, woodworker Will Kirk, ceramics conservator Kirsten Ramsay, metalworker Dominic Chinea, the toy-rescuing ‘Teddy Bear Ladies’, and more. Mixing stories of a Windrush radiogram, a barrel organ and a Jewish prayer book rescued from a Concentration Camp: this friendly and creative collection of stories demonstrates the importance of craftsmanship and the magic of bringing back faded objects. Illustrated throughout with colour photographs and with a Foreword by Jay Blades, this book will be treasured by any fan of the programme.

This is such an interesting book, with background on many of the team & the years of previous experience & expertise. There are one of their favourite work for people with amazing stories. The team’s ethos, support of each other and such respectful attitude to the people & the stories who come for the team’s help. This emphasises what special people are in the team and restores much appreciation for them in this throw away world!
