Set of 15 cards with three delightful watercolour studies depicting Lenten roses, lily-of-the-valley and narcissus. Reproducing Medici Society archive images by Margaret Tarrant (1888–1959). Tarrant was an English illustrator and children's author, well known for her depictions of fairy tale scenes. Her designs are reproduced on a handsome, textured board with a smart embossed frame. Very disappointing. The photos on the website implied that these cards had a golden sheened background but in fact more like brown paper type background. The card itself is of sturdy enough quality .... although I have not written on any yet so don't know how they will behave in contact with ink ...... Nothing special.

We understand how this difference can be disappointing, especially when the expectation was for a golden sheen rather than a brown paper look.
