Endearing trio of fairy mice garden ornaments, perfect for decorating plant pots. Inspired by the delightful animal illustrations of Molly Brett, an English illustrator and writer renowned for her contributions to children’s literature from 1902-90. The Victorian fascination with fairies and anthropomorphic animals arose from a heightened interest in folklore, myth and the supernatural, influenced by the Romantic movement's emphasis on imagination. Discoveries of ancient myths, folktales and a renewed interest in medieval literature contributed to the allure of mystical and fantastical elements like fairies. Additionally, advancements in natural history during the era popularised the concept of anthropomorphic animals as scientific knowledge expanded. It was a present for my father who loves mice. They are very cute. I wouldn't risk leaving them outside in all weathers as they are quite delicate and small and wouldn't survive wind gusts.
