Description
Charming mug, coaster and spoon set reproducing 'The Blossoming Almond Tree', one of Vincent Van Gogh’s (1853-1890) most recognised paintings. Van Gogh painted it in 1890 in Saint-Remy where he favoured the warmth and brighter light. Given that they blossom early in the spring, almond trees are symbols of new life, an apt subject matter for the paintings recipients as the artist painted it as a gift for his brother Theo and his wife after the birth of their son. It is currently on display at the Van Gogh Museum. Smartly boxed, this set makes a handsome gift for art and nature lover alike.

This was a gift to my sister who loved it and said it was beautiful. As she was born in the spring, almond blossom was a good choice. She had also once sent a birthday card illustrating the Van Gogh almond blossom to my mother, an artist who then painted it herself.
This dainty little set of mug, spoon and coaster is a perfect combination.
