4 Rose Border Linen Placemats

Set of four floral printed linen tablemats based on a dog rose study by Pierre-Joseph Redouté (1759 – 1840). Redouté, often referred to as the "Raphael of Flowers," was one of the leading botanical artists of the late 18th and early 19th centuries. His studies of roses and other flowers were highly detailed and sought after by aristocrats and scientists alike. Redouté’s works were an integral part of the scientific revolution of botanical illustration, influencing both botanical research and the decorative arts. These placemats are ideal for summer parties, indoors or alfresco.
