Description
Striking costume necklace evoking the Golden Phase of Austrian symbolist painter Gustav Klimt (1862 – 1918). Known for his use of shimmering gold backgrounds, Klimt’s most famous works include The Kiss (1908–09) and 'Portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer I' (1907). Klimt was inspired to use this medium after a journey to Italy in 1903 where he viewed the Byzantine mosaics in the Church of San Vitale. His shimmering backgrounds reflected the influence of the gilded tiles he saw. This necklace captures the glowing quality of his works which continue to resonate today as they did a century ago.

The idea was great but when I received the necklace it wasn't made the same way as the one in the catalogue. Also the colours weren't as golden & vibrant so was disappointing. Returned for a refund

Beautiful. Looks quite authentic unless you are an expert! I wear it with the Klimt jacket and a gold pleat skirt and it looks fantastic. Always pleased with your costume jewellery and many compliments. Never quite know whether to pretend it's genuine or be honest!
