Description

Traditionally closures for garments, netsuke evolved into a form of sculpture from the 17th century. This hand-carved boxwood snake represents the eastern zodiac animal for 2025, the sixth in the 12-year cycle of Chinese zodiac signs. Netsuke, originally used as toggles to secure pouches or containers worn on kimono sashes, have become collectible art pieces prized for their intricate craftsmanship. A unique and thoughtful gift or a beautiful addition to any collection.
