Description

Netsuke, originally designed as functional garment closures, became intricate sculptures during Japan's Edo period (17th–19th centuries). These miniature works of art were used to secure items like inro to a kimono's sash while showcasing skilled craftsmanship. This hand-carved boxwood netsuke takes the form of a hare, a symbol of longevity and renewal in East Asian culture. Revered in folklore and often associated with the moon, the hare embodies wisdom and vitality. This finely crafted piece is a timeless collectible.

Heavy/larger items and furniture will be despatched separately and will not arrive with other purchases. Items purchased between October 1st and December 23rd can be returned up to January 14th.

If anything you have ordered does not live up to your expectations just return it to us unused, in its original packaging, for an exchange or refund.
