Description

Charming partridge sculpture inspired by the bronze creations of Dutch artist and sculptor Johannes Bosma (1879-1960) who was largely known for his bronze sculptures of wildlife. This sculpture recalls the animalier tradition of naturalistic works by painters and sculptors which emerged from the 19th century. ‘Les Animaliers’ were a group of French artists who focused on the realistic portrayal of animals and birds in sculptures during the 19th century. Artists such as Antoine-Louis Barye led this movement, portraying animals as worthy subjects of art. This is a charming collectable, perfect for nature lovers.
