Description

Traditionally used as closures for garments, netsuke originated in Japan during the Edo period (17th–19th centuries) as functional toggles to secure small containers, like inro, to a kimono's sash. Over time, these practical items evolved into intricate miniature sculptures, often crafted with exquisite detail to reflect themes from nature, mythology or everyday life. This hand-carved boxwood netsuke, shaped as a bear, embodies the animal's symbolic significance in East Asia, representing protection, strength and courage. A unique collector's piece.

Heavy/larger items and furniture will be despatched separately and will not arrive with other purchases. Items purchased between October 1st and December 23rd can be returned up to January 14th.

If anything you have ordered does not live up to your expectations just return it to us unused, in its original packaging, for an exchange or refund.
