Map of the Stars Jigsaw

A jigsaw puzzle to delight star gazers of all ages: construct your own map of the Heavens while learning the names and shapes of over 30 constellations. While the earliest star-charts are thought to have been those of Mesopotamian and Ancient Egyptian astronomers, the Chinese Dunhuang chart from the 11th century is thought to be the earliest pictorial representation of the stars. From the Big Dipper (also known as The Plough), Pegasus and the stars of the zodiac to Ursa Minor, Cygnus, Lyra and more, the jigsaw’s informative design features constellations from the northern and southern hemispheres. The circular shape invites collaboration around a table, or test yourself by completing the puzzle solo. Packed in a cardboard poster-tube and with a paper envelope for the pieces. Please note, if you will be constructing this jigsaw on a puzzle board, it requires an Extra Large board to accommodate the circular design.
