A joyous CD of toe-tapping and tuneful 1930s jazz performed by Django Reinhardt (1910-53) and Stéphane Grappelli (1908-97), one of the earliest and most influential of the continental jazz scene. Spanning the 1934-39 recording output of their group, Quintette du Hot Club de France, the all-strings group blended Reinhardt’s virtuoso Romany-jazz guitar with Grappelli’s swing-jazz violin, plus double bass and rhythm guitar. An evocative collection of 24 instrumental tracks, includes ‘Daphne’, ‘Djangology’, ‘The Younger Generation’, ‘Viper’s Dream’, 'Ain't Misbehavin', 'Swanee River', 'Tea for Two', ‘It Don’t Mean a Thing (if it ain’t got that swing)’, and more.
