Elephant tapestry footstool, inspired by an 18th-century design attributed to Jean-Amedee Couderc, woven in Aubusson between 1840-3 and now housed in the Louvre. Reflecting the Victorian fascination with 'Orientalism', it features an intricate elephant motif on a cotton blend fabric.
