Medieval Embroidered Blouse

Blue chambray blouse with embroidery in pale yellow, red, white and black, echoing the decoration of the Butler-Bowdon Cope, dating from 1335-45, now held in the Victoria and Albert Museum. This elegant blouse has a round neckline, with pintucking at the shoulder and white mother-of-pearl buttons down the front. The slightly cropped sleeves have a button cuff and gathering detail for added shape. Intricate embroidery — inspired by Medieval motifs and patterns — carries throughout the front, sleeves and back yoke of this elaborate shirt.
