Description
A cricketing world tour charting the changes at 45 famous cricket grounds. Each profile is packed with nostalgic ‘then’ and ‘now’ photographs and an informative text highlighting the history of the grounds. Featuring many British Isles and Australian grounds, plus views of Basin Reserve, New Zealand; Trinity College, Dublin; Narendra Modi Stadium, India; The Padang, Singapore; Maifeld, Berlin; Pietermaritzburg and Newlands, South Africa; Kensington Oval, Barbados; American grounds at Merion, Philadelphia; and Hollywood Cricket Club in California. From ‘lost’ county grounds to the enduring Hill scoreboard at Sydney Cricket Ground and the Grace Gates at Lord’s: a mix of major Test venues and atmospheric smaller venues. Includes images of Lord’s in 1934, Cheltenham College c.1905, and Edgbaston in 1982.
